All of what we had planned to train folks during neighborhood walkabouts has now become VIRTUALIZED and with social distancing, we are doing things a little differently. 

Tree Mapping can be done solo, with a partner or with your kids as a family activity when you go out to get some air. When things get back to normal we will have outdoor gatherings again, which will look more like what we outlined below, promise ! But for now, it’s all about a 3-step process to get this JC Tree Mapping Census off the ground -

1. Online WebEx Training To Train You To Become Citizen Scientists (we can do this !)

2. Sign Up Process To Become A Tree Mapper (SJC OTM Smartphone App)

3. Online Text GroupMe App To Stay In Touch With Your Neighborhood Captain

( Future Neighborhood Group Events Will Be Led As Below !)

We Will Train You To Become Citizen Scientists via Walkabouts

- You Will Be Led By One Of Our Tree Map Captains To Complete One Of The Designated Zones    For Your Group's Assignment.

- You Will Receive A Primer On The Importance Of Urban Tree Canopy Health + Learn How To      Use The OpenTreeMap Smartphone App.

- Neighborhood Captains Will Then Guide You Through The Tree Inventory Process To Record      GPS Locations Of Trees, Tree Metrics, Tree Health Data, And Tree Species ID Photos.
