The Agenda is broader, but we think we have designed a bigger ‘Opportunity for You To Learn and Be Part of an Action Team For Change’, that goes beyond Jersey City, and importantly, addresses NJ State and Regional Policy Decisions - read below 👍👍👍

PLEASE NOTE – This WebEx Meetup has an earlier start time 6pm; the end time is still 8:30pm.

You must Register ahead of time to join this online Zoom Town Hall event; login details will be sent to you the day before the event so please register early !

On the evening of April 7th, 2020, Colleges and Universities across the USA are collaborating for a Virtual Teach-In on Climate Solutions and Social Justice.  University and high school students across the nation, along with faith based and community groups, will simultaneously tune their respective co-hosted, 52 state-wide webinars to host Town Hall events focused on a single issue critical to our collective future: Solving Climate By 2030

Across the nation, in towns and cities in every State, hundreds of thousands of folks just like us will gather together, virtually, to discuss realistic and practical climate solutions and energy justice at their respective online Town Halls.

For this local Town Hall, the event format will have Two Parts -

First - a :60 min Power Dialog Panel, and then Second - a :90 min Community Discussion, with breakout groups that will address three topics -

  1. Stopping All Fossil Fuel Infrastructure,

  2. Restructuring K-12 and Higher Education Curriculums to Include Climate Education Permeated Throughout, and

  3. Radically Transform Energy Policy at the Municipal, County and State Levels.

SJC’s Amanda Novello, will be participating on the Power Dialog Panel to offer perspectives on Municipal Policy Action, and will also be co-hosting one of the Community Discussion breakout groups – Municipal and State Action.

  • Remember, Amanda Novello was going to be speaking at SJC’s Meetup on Emissions / Emissions Redux & the JC Climate Action Plan, so this is extraordinarily relevant and consistent, and brings you all into the very good company of these other panelists and frankly, the opportunity to participate with a highly energized national group of activists all tuned in to this conversation !

One of the things we wanted to do at SJC’s Meetup on the eve of April 7th, was to start to dialog about ways to participate on the ground in Jersey City vis a vis the Jersey City Climate Action Plan Proposals and NJ State Policy Proposals that SJC could support and help to organize with your help.  This virtual community Town Hall will start to facilitate that discussion, and this has us VERY EXCITED !

The goal of this event is to brainstorm tangible ways in which, we, as grassroots activists, can engage with those solutions to implement real and transparent change that will actually Solve Climate By 2030.  This event will allow us to start to team together to make that happen.  Please join the discussion – this is an important time for us to focus our attention on how we want to shape things to come !
