Why We Are Doing This Campaign ?

All of what we had planned to train folks during neighborhood walkabouts has now become VIRTUALIZED and with social distancing, we are doing things a little differently.
Tree Mapping can be done solo, with a partner or with your kids as a family activity, or with friends when you go out to get some air. When things get back to normal we will have outdoor gatherings again, we promise !

2. Register for this Online Zoom Training ( A Primer On The Importance Of Urban Tree Canopy Health + Learn How To Use The OpenTreeMap On Your Smartphone ) - We Will Train You To Become Citizen Scientists đź‘Ť
3. Download Online Text Messaging GroupMe App To Stay In Touch With Your Neighborhood Captain AND Tree Mappers In Your Neighborhood - available for your smartphone and desktop đź‘Ť ( You Will Be Sent Your Neighborhood GroupMe Link Right After The Zoom Training As Part Of Your Onboarding Instructions.)
AFTER THIS TRAINING, Neighborhood Captains Will Guide You Through The Tree Inventory Process To Record GPS Locations Of Trees, Tree Metrics, Tree Health Data, AND Tree Species ID / Photos.
