This event is one more step forward towards our ultimate goal of capturing the location, species, and condition of all the trees in Jersey City, one neighborhood at a time. This will help the City of Jersey City care for the trees we already have, and identify new sites for more green infrastructure, like rain gardens / bioswales, and more trees.
We are hosting 2 Saturday morning Sessions to do this and here are the locations for those meetups -
- SATURDAY JUNE 16TH @ SNYDER HIGH SCHOOL, 239 BERGEN AVENUE
- SATURDAY JUNE 23RD @ BERRY LANE PARK, NORTHWEST CORNER
If you would like to join us:
- RSVP on EventBrite for one or both sessions (mandatory so we can approve your OpenTreeMap account)
- Register for Open Tree Map
- Download the Open Tree Map app to your smartphone - itunes or Google Play
- Download either the Leafsnap (iOS) or the Virginia Tech Tree ID (android) tree identification app to your smartphone
- Bring a measuring tape if you have one !
